I've had a range of experience working with the Blender, Unity, and Godot graphic / game engines. I began working with the Unity game engine first – as a kid growing up playin games like the pokemon RPG series as well as Undertale, I felt inspired to make a 2D pixel RPG myself.
Memoir – The first RPG project I tinkered with is called Memoir, featuring a boy who wakes up in a mysterious mansion with amnesia and must uncover clues to find out what his past is. I learned about creating dialogue systems, hitboxes, physics rendering, tilemapping, and pixel art design through this project.
It's Home – wanting to explore more of 3D game development, I created It's home. The minigame concept, funnily, is similar to Memoir, except the genre is horror. The player attempts to escape from a maze by finding a key and running from a horrifying creature. I learned about the A \* search algorithm, VFX / lightning and shaders, 3D modelling, C# applications in game dev, as well as animation frames and collision events. The game is playable in browser.
Web Development
Web development is what I began with when I was first introduced to programming. Thus, I have built many (some questionable) websites throughout my time as a web developer:
September 2021 – 🐺 McHughs Website – Website made for my house with updates.
August 2021 - 🦗 Chirp Processor - Soundwave analysis w/ fourier algorithm & Matplotlib (In Progress)
July 2021 - 📊 Sheet2JSON - Exploring how to efficiently use Google Sheets to fetch realtime JSON data
The Deep Archives
These are more so for myself to look back at – my growth as a creator and what I've learned along the way. (Some of these links might not as they may not be public)
🩸 PrickNotes - Android App for Diabetes Patients to log glucose levels by voice (In Beta)
